Job Description

Full-Time | In-Person/Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days in-field, subject to need)

About Us

Angeleno is a mission-driven real estate development firm focused on building high-quality, community-oriented affordable housing throughout Los Angeles. We acquire, entitle, and develop real estate projects using innovative strategies to maximize impact and deliver long-term value.

Role Overview

We are seeking a sharp, motivated, and detail-oriented Asset Manager to join our team and help steward the success of our active and stabilized real estate portfolio. This role is ideal for a candidate who began their career in asset management, real estate finance, or acquisitions, and is now looking for increased ownership, cross-functional exposure, and leadership responsibility in a mission-driven development company. You will be responsible for tracking and ensuring compliance with project-level reporting requirements, managing documentation across multiple stakeholders (lenders, investors, contractors, city agencies), and supporting strategic decision-making with clear, data-driven insights. This role bridges finance, operations, and project execution—and will require you to own outcomes and take initiative across a wide range of workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Real Estate Compliance, Reporting, and Oversight

  • Own lender compliance tracking and investor reporting across the project portfolio. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with loan agreements and project pro formas.
  • Synthesize project financials into clear and compelling reporting narratives, rooted in data and thoughtful context.
  • Drive accountability for documentation and reporting deadlines across construction, legal, and finance partners.

Project and Property Coordination

  • Serve as a critical internal liaison across Development, Construction, Finance, and Property Management functions.
  • Lead administrative execution from weekly OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings: track RFIs, submittals, and change orders to resolution.
  • Manage field and administrative operations with the support of a field technician and offshore administrator.

Corporate Operations

  • Maintain complete and accurate records of all project legal entities from formation through dissolution.
  • Support executive priorities, including lender packages, insurance renewals, and contract management.
  • Oversee critical administrative workflows such as notarizations, document signing, and system organization.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Must-Haves

  • Bachelor's degree, ideally with coursework in business, finance, accounting, or real estate.
  • 2–5 years of professional experience in real estate asset management, acquisitions, or operations—preferably at a developer or institutional owner/operator.
  • Deep understanding of project financials, investor communications, and loan reporting requirements.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly for crafting fact-based, investor-facing narratives.
  • Intermediate Excel skills; proficiency with Dropbox, DocuSign, Slack, and project management tools.
  • Track record of self-ownership, proactive problem-solving, and deadline accountability.
  • Maturity, integrity, and entrepreneurial drive—with a humble, low-ego approach to teamwork.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience coordinating vendors or field teams.
  • Familiarity with construction and development processes and documentation.
  • Familiarity with affordable housing financing or entitlement processes.
  • Experience working with remote or offshore teams.

Why Angeleno

At Angeleno, you'll be a part of a small, agile team working on some of the most important housing challenges in Los Angeles. You’ll gain visibility across the full development lifecycle—and your input will matter. We value humility, learning, and high standards, and we’re looking for someone who brings energy, precision, and a spirit of ownership to the work.
