\n\nPICU RN Travel Job Details\n

• Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico (87106)\n
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract\n
• Start Date: January 12, 2026\n
• End Date: April 13, 2026\n
• Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed); 3x12 or 4x12 shifts available. 48-hour contract (4x12) is possible if preferred.\n
• Shift: 12-hour nights (rotating shifts possible; 19:00 – 07:30)\n
• Weekend Requirement: 4–5 weekend shifts per schedule\n
• Facility Type: Level I Trauma Center, Children's Hospital, Teaching Hospital\n
• Unit: Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) – 20 beds, average daily census ~15\n
• Patient Ratio: 1:2\n
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week (facility may call off up to 3 times during assignment)\n
• Charting System: Cerner\n
• Scrub Color: Black\n
• Parking: Free onsite\n
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1800-$1930\n

\n\nPICU Registered Nurse Qualifications\n

\n
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico (pending accepted)\n
• Minimum 1.5 years of recent PICU RN experience (within the last 2 years)\n
• Experience in a Level I Trauma facility strongly preferred\n
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications required (no RQI certs accepted)\n
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation)\n
• CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) and ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) experience preferred\n
• Willingness to float to NICU and assist in Pediatric Emergency Department as a resource\n
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility (no local candidates)\n
• Personal transportation required\n

\n\nPICU RN Responsibilities\n

\n
• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU\n
• Manage patients with complex diagnoses: respiratory distress/failure, renal failure, trauma, CRRT, ECMO, hematology/oncology, multi-system organ failure, and suicide attempts\n
• Utilize advanced clinical skills: EVD (external ventricular drain) management, HFNC (high flow nasal cannula), ICP monitoring, IV vasopressors, and post-neurosurgery care\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, social services, rapid response)\n
• Float to NICU as needed and provide resource support in the Pediatric Emergency Department (IVs, medications, etc.)\n
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR\n
• Adhere to hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards\n
