HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel Medical Lab Technician for a travel job in New York, New York.

Skills:

1 year Clinical Laboratory Technologist experience.

 

Education:

Valid license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (092) issued by NYSED, Primary Source Verification required. BLS preferred.

 

Schedule Notes:

***Candidates must be available for all 3 shifts: 12a-8a, 8a-4p, 4p-12a *** - 35 hrs per week - At least 1 yr. experience - Valid license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist issued by NYSED - BLS preferred - Rotating Weekends and Holidays required - Interviews: In-person or Webex

Duties:\n•\tPerform clinical laboratory procedures and examinations and other test and procedures conducted by the Microbiology, Chemistry and Hematology Laboratories.\n•\tPerforming procedures – Accessioning, Specimen Testing, Quality Control, and Proficiency Testing\n•\tReporting and Documentation of Results\n•\tAdhere to Safety Protocols\n•\tPerforming examinations\n•\tPerforms regular accessioning tests and procedures on blood, urine, blood fluids, and body fluids to assist in diagnoses and treatment on specimens submitted to the lab (performs bench work)\n•\tMonitor and data entry and verify patient results\n•\tReviews in-house and reference laboratory incomplete worklist\n•\tReviews abnormal/critical result queue\n•\tOrganizes workflow to facilitate completion of assigned tasks\n•\tResponds to STAT and routine requests within the expected turnaround time\n•\tFollows all NYS DOH, College of American Pathologists, JC, and CMS guidelines\n•\tMaintains a safe and clean working environment by following all infection control policies, biosafety policies, and hazardous waste policies\n•\t \n•\tEnters raw data from instruments into computer systems to identify final results\n•\tRecord results on report forms and laboratory reports (record books, electronic forms/books)\n•\tAble to process specimens.\n•\tAble to prepare and examine slides and/or smears\n•\tEnsures operation of analyzers and other instruments with calibration and quality controls; performs preventive maintenance following manufacturer’s instructions; and troubleshoot instrument issues\n•\tUphold the quality control program; as well as, participate in the quality assurance program\n•\tProvides information to medical providers by answering questions and requests\n•\tBe able to package, label, and standardize laboratory media, reagents, and controls to ensure the laboratory has suffice and up-to-date supplies\n•\tRecord results of important data on prepared products, or oversee this operation\n•\tMaintains technical competency\n•\tMaintains preventative maintenance program\n•\tPromotes a positive work image through productivity and professional interaction with patients and other hospital personnel\n
