The Role: Scrum Master
Lead and coordinate planning and delivery efforts across one or more Squads to achieve positive results, technical feasibility, and balanced team performance. This role integrates customer and business insights with technical understanding to shape actionable plans, manage dependencies and risks, and drive predictable delivery. It also cultivates continuous improvement and team health through structured feedback, open communication, and a focus on long-term sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning
Create and maintain clear, actionable plans across sprints, releases, and quarterly horizons.
Ensure backlog items are well-defined, estimated, and ready for execution through effective refinement.
Identify and align dependencies early to support smooth delivery and cross-team coordination.
Proactively surface and oversee risks throughout the delivery lifecycle to reduce impact.
Delivery
Track and communicate progress across planning horizons using tools and stakeholder collaboration.
Maintain visibility and alignment of dependencies, adjusting plans to reduce delivery risk.
Make risks visible, track mitigation actions, and promote accountability and clarity.
Lead all aspects of release processes, ensuring readiness, contingency planning, and post-deployment follow-through.
Process
Facilitate early and frequent feedback to ensure solutions align with business needs and stakeholder expectations.
Plan and lead work to support a sustainable pace, minimizing burnout and last-minute efforts.
Develop a culture of learning and adaptation by identifying insights and implementing changes that improve team performance.
Initiative Cohesion
Ensure delivery goals are clearly articulated and understood for each value delivery stream across the program/initiative.
Partner with Program Managers and Scrum Masters to ensure cohesion across all aspects of planning, execution, and delivery.
Complete Quarterly Planning activities for the program/initiative, ensuring value delivery stream integrations are understood and committed across the program/initiative.
Continuously look for ways to improve how the program/initiative is performing using data to drive key decision making.
Communication
Establish communication practices to share delivery plans, coordinate roadmap adjustments, and provide insight into plans and progress.
Provide updates to leadership on status of program/initiative including progress, risks, challenges, achievements, and metrics.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders including Product Owners, Product Area Leaders, Scrum Masters/Project Managers, Chapter Leaders/People Managers, Architects, and other Stakeholders to ensure dependencies are managed, impediments are removed or escalated, and there is visibility into the work being done and how the program is performing.
Dynamic Working
