Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant- Cardiology - SAGE Campbell

• Solid technical skills and anesthesia knowledge base, sound judgment, and the ability to function both independently and with a team are required
• Venipuncture; IV catheter placement; medication calculations and administration; digital radiography; patient prep and recovery; epidural administration; anesthesia/sedation monitoring for cardiac diagnostics or interventional procedures
• Assisting doctors during patient appointments, providing outstanding client communication and education
• Advocating for the patient, providing exceptional comfort, diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients
• Assisting with advanced cardiac diagnostics, such as: Echocardiograms, Electrocardiograms (ECGs or EKGs), Thoracic radiographs, and Holter monitor placement and instruction for home use
• Collaborate closely with other veterinary professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Advocate for the well-being of patients, ensuring they receive appropriate care, treatment and after-care.
• Other duties as assigned.

Compensation range: primarily determined by role and experience level

• VA: $26 - $30/hr 
• RVT: $26 - $40/hr

Work schedule:

• 4/10 work week
• Saturday availability ideal
• Weekend and holiday flexibility required

Basic required qualifications:

• General understanding and experience with small animal restraint with a focus on cats and dogs
• High school diploma
• Calm, professional demeanor.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable time management and problem-solving skills; working efficiently and effectively throughout the hospital.
• Multi-task various duties and responsibilities in a timely and reliable manner, with appropriate follow-through and accuracy.
• Understand and follow established hospital processes and procedures (i.e. SOPs)
• Able to work well independently as well as with a team.
• Basic understanding of veterinary medical terminology.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in Specialty Veterinary Medicine, with a focus on cardiology.
• Valid and current Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California.
