Ophthalmologist Opportunity – Join a Thriving Coastal Practice in Downeast Maine

Coastal Eye Care is seeking a full-time Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Ophthalmologist to join our dynamic, two-MD practice in beautiful Ellsworth, Maine. With a fully equipped, state-of-the-art clinic and Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) on-site, you’ll have the opportunity to make an immediate impact in a welcoming community with strong patient demand and an established referral network. All levels of experience welcome! 

• Established, high-volume practice with 29 years of community trust and a strong referral base from local ODs and PCPs.

• Immediate surgical volume : 10+ cataract cases per week available starting in your first year, with significant growth potential.

• Diverse surgical opportunities : Cataract surgery, YAG, LPI, and SLT procedures.

• Fellowship-trained candidates in Glaucoma or Cornea will find ample opportunity to grow subspecialty services due to unmet community demand.

• Excellent work-life balance : Clinic hours include Friday afternoons off.

• Efficient, modern clinical environment :

  • 10 exam rooms

  • Advanced diagnostic and surgical technology including iTrace, Zeiss OCT, Argos biometer, LAL IOL Light Delivery Device, and ORA Wavetec

  • Fully equipped for premium IOLs

  • Experienced technical team with full scribe support
