We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee and manage the payroll operations for our organization, supporting a workforce of approximately 1,000 employees across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CDK software and a strong background in the automotive industry . This role requires someone who can ensure compliance with all relevant payroll laws, regulations, and internal policies while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for ~1,000 employees using CDK software .
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with HR, Accounting, and Operations to ensure accurate employee data, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and benefit deductions.
  • Maintain and reconcile payroll records, including timekeeping data, tax withholdings, garnishments, and bonuses.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and external auditors as needed.
  • Ensure timely filings and payments of payroll taxes and other withholdings.
  • Respond to and resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner.
  • Lead and mentor payroll staff or coordinate with outsourced payroll providers if applicable.
  • Stay updated with changes in legislation, especially those affecting the automotive sector.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of payroll management experience , with at least 2+ years using CDK software .
  • Experience managing payroll for 1,000+ employees is required .
  • Industry experience in automotive retail or dealership groups is mandatory .
  • Strong understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
