Job Description
Job Title: Mental Health Therapist – Nonprofit
Location: Elkhart, Indiana
About Us:
Cornerstone Family Therapy Center, INC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making mental health services accessible to everyone, regardless of financial situation. We provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health support to individuals and families across Michiana. By partnering with local schools, businesses, and community organizations, we strive to create a culture of wellness, resilience, and inclusivity. Our mission is guided by integrity, inclusivity, and excellence, aiming to empower individuals on their mental health journey.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated mental health therapist to join our office-based team at our new location located in Elkhart. This role is ideal for a professional who values meaningful, client-centered work in a supportive, nonprofit setting. While we offer opportunities for therapists interested in community outreach or collaboration with local partners, this is not a requirement. Our flexible scheduling and collaborative environment provide the freedom to focus on what you do best—serving clients.
Responsibilities:
Conduct individual, family, and/or group therapy sessions, focusing on evidence-based practices within an office setting
Maintain thorough, confidential client documentation in compliance with ethical standards
Optionally participate in community outreach if desired, to promote awareness and accessibility of mental health services
Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities
Foster a welcoming, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment that respects the dignity and diversity of all clients
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or a related field
Fully licensed (LMHC, LCSW, LMFT) or associate-licensed (LMHC-A, LSW, LMFT-A) in the State of Indiana
Strong alignment with Cornerstone Family Therapy Center’s mission, values, and commitment to high-quality client care
Experience with evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and trauma-informed approaches
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
Why Join Us?
Flexible, Office-Based Work: Set your own hours within a supportive, office-based environment, with options for evening and weekend scheduling.
Mission-Driven Practice: Contribute to our mission of making mental health care accessible and compassionate for all.
Professional Development: We prioritize continuous learning and provide resources for ongoing training to support your growth.
Application Process:
To apply, please email your resume to admin@cornerstonefamilytherapy.org. We look forward to connecting with candidates who share our dedication to accessible and compassionate mental health care.
Job Types: Full-time
Compensation: The pay structure reflects a combination of licensure level and the number of clients seen each week. Associate-level therapists receive a slightly lower percentage of income per session due to the added supervision and support provided as they grow professionally. Fully licensed therapists earn a higher percentage, reflecting their advanced credentials and expertise.
Compensation is directly tied to client caseload, giving therapists the flexibility to shape their income based on the number of sessions they choose to provide.
Work Location: In person, Elkhart Indiana
