Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An educational institution in Metairie, LA, is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a K-12 school environment. This contract position runs for the current school year and requires candidates skilled in providing specialized instruction to students across elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress and maintain accurate records.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid teaching certification with a focus on Special Education.
• Experience teaching special education students at the elementary, middle, and/or high school levels.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, strategies, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
