Job Description

Responsible for leading a team of reflash technicians, including supplemental resources as needed, in the performance of customer module and/or vehicle reflash projects. The Site lead is responsible for the overall training and supervision of the team and must be comfortable dealing directly with customers to ensure the successful execution of the project/campaign. This position will require travel, both domestic and international, up to 70% of the time. Duties and Responsibilities: Update vehicle software on vehicles/modules using vehicle diagnostic tools (e.g., PUMA, Tech II, and NeoVI). Set-up work site and ensure that all workers receive the proper orientation to the site including, but not limited to; process training, required clothing/safety equipment, work hours, time tracking and emergency contacts. Ensure that a controlled start is performed before the full reflash process begins including, but not limited to; run the process for each programming tool/harness on a vehicle/module, validate the programmed vehicle/module with each validation tool/harness, verify the correctness of the Process instructions, and gain sign-off from the customer that everything is working as required. Troubleshoot any issues that develop with Engineering; including diagnosing issues using Ford DET and/or GM DPS. Provide, as a minimum, daily status updates to management. These communications occur either in a scheduled call-in or in an email progress report and include any pertinent commentary with respect to the status of the project (e.g., description of physical limitations impacting throughput, number of vehicles that could not be found or updated due to circumstances beyond control). Send/upload log files on an hourly/daily/end of shift basis (as required) for customer reporting purposes. Ensure a daily accounting of the resources being used for the project including sending a summary of time to Operations on a daily/weekly basis. Monitor all of the equipment being used on a project to ensure everything is performing at acceptable levels. Report any failures or concerns immediately to Operations including faulty PUMAs, harnesses wearing out, and sticker supply. Build and maintain a positive working relationship/rapport with local customer management to ensure all needs are being met. Gain sign-off from customer when the reflash project has been successfully completed. Desired Skills & Experience: 5+ years technician experience, preferably on Ford and/or GM vehicles. Familiarity with automotive communication protocols and network tools, automotive certification a plus. Proficient in Microsoft office tools (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience in the management of complex data. Excellent organizational and information technology skills. Ability to lead and work in a team environment. Software experience (C/C++) and automotive experience a plus. Travel, both domestic and international, up to 70% of the time.
