Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Garden Center Manager to oversee daily retail operations and lead our garden center team. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational and leadership skills who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The Garden Center Manager will ensure efficient operations, provide expert gardening advice, and contribute to the growth and success of our business.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, merchandising, and inventory management.
• Supervise, schedule, and train staff to ensure excellent customer service and productivity.
• Build and maintain vendor relationships; coordinate purchasing and receiving of inventory.
• Develop seasonal displays and sales strategies to maximize customer engagement.
• Oversee plant care management, including watering, fertilizing, pruning, and pest control.
• Monitor sales performance, budgets, and expenses to meet financial goals.
• Provide expert advice to customers on plant selection, gardening products, and care techniques.
• Ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for staff and customers.

Support special events, promotions, and seasonal activities.

Work Schedule:

• 40 hours per week.
• Additional hours may be required during peak seasons.
• Weekend work is required, with every other weekend off.

Travel:

• Occasional travel may be required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Previous retail or horticulture experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-year degree in Horticulture or related field.
• Experience managing staff in a retail or horticultural environment.

Knowledge of seasonal plants, trees, shrubs, and gardening products.
