A growing agricultural operation in Eastern NY is seeking a Farm Manager to oversee daily operations across both row crops and vegetable production. The ideal candidate is experienced and knowledgeable in both conventional and organic production systems . This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership position and values efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement in farm operations.


Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of crop production: planting, cultivation, irrigation, and harvest for both row crops and vegetables.
  
  
• Lead, train, and supervise a diverse team of employees, providing clear communication in both Spanish and English .
  
  
• Develop and implement crop rotation and fertility management plans that align with both conventional and organic production standards.
  
  
• Coordinate with agronomists, input suppliers, and equipment operators to optimize yields and maintain soil health.
  
  
• Ensure compliance with organic certification and conventional production standards , maintaining proper documentation and audit readiness.
  
  
• Manage equipment use and maintenance schedules to ensure peak efficiency during planting and harvest seasons.
  
  
• Monitor budgets, inventory, and input use to control costs and meet production goals.
  
  
• Promote a safe and productive work environment while fostering teamwork and professional growth among employees.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of farm management or production leadership experience in row crops and/or vegetables .
  
  
• Bilingual (Eng/Spanish)
  
  
• Knowledge of organic certification requirements and conventional crop practices .
  
  
• Strong understanding of irrigation systems, equipment operation, and maintenance .
  
  
• Proven leadership skills with experience training and managing crews.
  
  
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
  
  
• CDL or pesticide applicator license a plus.
