About the Role
The company is seeking a talented Director of AML Monitoring and Testing to lead the creation and management of an independent testing and monitoring function for financial crime compliance. In this critical role, you will design and implement a robust framework to evaluate the effectiveness of controls across key AML areas, including Sanctions, KYC, and Transaction Monitoring. We are looking for a seasoned professional with at least 10 years of experience in AML, BSA/Financial Crimes, or Compliance within the payments industry, particularly emphasizing the necessity of payments industry background.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in assessing control design and effectiveness across various AML domains while acting as a trusted advisor on best practices in testing and monitoring. You will collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure alignment with international standards and U.S. regulatory requirements, and you will prepare detailed testing results and metrics for senior leadership as well as regulators.
This role will initially require you to work as an individual contributor, with the exciting opportunity to build and lead a team as our U.S. business grows. Excellent communication skills and the capability to translate testing results for both technical teams and executive audiences are essential. You will have the flexibility to work in a hybrid model based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
