Cost Accountant

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to manage and analyze our company's costs and budgets. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate cost accounting records, performing variance analysis, and assisting with financial reporting to ensure that we maintain financial health and profitability. Our company is an industry leader in the Retail/Luxury sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze cost reports to monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct variance analysis to compare budgeted costs to actual costs and provide insights for decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts to guide financial planning.
• Maintain and update the general ledger related to cost accounting activities.
• Ensure compliance with auditing standards and assist in internal and external audits.
• Prepare and review financial statements related to cost and budget activities.
• Oversee month-end close processes and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
• Perform cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency and profitability.
• Utilize ERP systems to manage accounting data and streamline processes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to analyze material costing and duty drawback processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar financial role.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics or Dynamics 365.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Experience in manufacturing accounting is a plus.
